Quora reminds me that humor will never die. Even a deadly virus can’t kill it. And Quora reassures me that I’m not alone in this. Maybe because much of the rest of the world can see how the majority of Americans have been duped by special interests (supported by the politicians they have bought and paid for) to trade truly valuable freedoms for at best transitory and at worse darn right harmful “freedoms”. I just want to convey only one thing. Please listen to your kid even though he/she is too young and does not know all that. Just listen to them once and never leave them alone. Alan and I had a great time that evening, drinking beer, eating pretzels, singing along with the oompah band, and chatting with the other tourists and locals. We got back to the hotel late, but we were both punctually in the lobby at 8:30. Where was Don? I asked the hotel operator to phone his room. No answer. Again.
In all his years, all the working in Black Cat Love America Meowrica shirt and dirt and rusty equipment and the manifold cuts, scrapes, and other wounds he had received over all that time, he had never once had a tetanus shot. Somehow that stupid aunty left my mother alone at least for half an hour at the hotel room. I went to the front desk and pleaded for them to tell me his room number. They refused but tried calling him a few times turned the phone so I could see the keypad as he deliberately dialed Don’s room. I finally had Don’s room number. Alan and I ran up the stairs and started pounding on the door, shouting Don’s name.
